Bring friends and family with you to the Zoo for free! 3 named adults for a total of up to 10 people admitted per day to the Zoo. At least one named adult must be present. All basic benefits PLUS:

**Household is defined as member(s) and children of the household under age 18. Age and party size restrictions apply to some tours. See Asante webpage for listing of tour options available by membership level. All tours must be scheduled three weeks in advance, are for one Zoo area, weekdays only, are non-transferable, and must be taken during your year of Asante Society membership. Tours cannot be scheduled on holidays or during Spring Break.

Membership Gift Certificates

Give the gift of membership to your family and friends this season! Once purchased, you’ll receive the certificate via email and can forward to the recipient of your choice. You do not need to have any of the recipient’s personal information, so it would be a great auction item or a last-minute gift.

The certificate is valid for 6 months, and the membership starts once the recipient redeems the certificate by emailing membership@houstonzoo.org.

Does Flex Pricing affect memberships?

What level of membership would be best for me?

This depends on how many people you plan to take with you. We have several different levels to accommodate you and your guests. Please contact the membership department at 713-533-6535 to speak with a representative.

What sort of discounts does my membership include?

Members enjoy discounts on gift shop purchases, additional admission tickets for guests, TXU Energy presents Zoo Lights tickets, special events, education programming and more. You must be logged in to apply your discount to purchases made online.

When can I use my membership to get into the Zoo?

Members do not need a reservation to visit the Zoo. Upon arrival at the Zoo, you will enter through our Member Entrance and present your digital membership card. If you have questions about your membership, please contact our member services team: membership@houstonzoo.org.

What other zoos and aquariums may I access with my Houston Zoo membership?

Please visit our Discounts at Other Zoos webpage for a list of participating zoos and aquariums around the country.

How long is my membership valid?

Your membership is valid until the end of the month one year from the date of purchase. For example, if you purchase a membership in June, it will be valid until June 30 the following year.

Will my employer match my membership?

Did you know you may be able to double or even triple your membership contribution at no cost to you? Many employers will match your current membership contribution. The matching gift does not change your membership level, but the additional gift is a huge help to the Zoo.

Contact your Human Resources Department to find out if your employer has a matching gifts program.

Employers typically have webpages where you can enter your new membership information. Feel great knowing you helped your Zoo even more!

Is my membership tax deductible?

Yes! Estimated Fair Market Value of Benefits: All costs may be considered a contribution to the Houston Zoo, Inc., a Section 501(c)(3) charity. The Internal Revenue Service has issued guidelines that affect the charitable contribution portion of memberships. Under those guidelines, Members may claim the amount of their membership fee, less the fair market value of benefits received.

For Individual Plus, Family, Senior 65+ and Family Plus Members, the fair market value of benefits received is not substantial. The estimated fair market value of benefits received for other categories are: Family & Friends Premium $12; Conservator $12; Asante Bronze $100; Asante Silver $240; Asante Gold $430; Asante Platinum $500.

How do I log into my Membership account?

To access your digital membership card, log in to your Member Portal, and click on Membership Cards under General Options. If you have questions about your membership, please contact our member services team: membership@houstonzoo.org.

How may I add or change a name on my account?

As a courtesy, we are able to perform a one-time change to the additional named adult(s) on your membership account. The primary member on the account must contact us at membership@houstonzoo.org so we can assist with this.

Do you offer discounts on memberships?

Military, veterans, educators, and first responders (firefighters, police, and EMT) get a special discount on membership purchases. Please contact us in advance at membership@houstonzoo.org with proof of employment/service, and we will help you with your transaction. Note: This discount is not available online or on previous purchases.

How can I access my membership card?

You may access your digital membership card by logging into our Membership Portal. We are no longer printing membership cards. Upon arrival at the Zoo, you will enter through our Member Entrance and present your digital membership card.
